Tentative title: Discussing the potential impact of micro- and nanoplastics on human health
Alke FINK received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Ulm, Germany. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the Particle Engineering Research Center in Gainesville, USA, before she joined the Institute of Materials Science at the EPFL. Since 2011, she co-leads the BioNanomaterials group at the Adolphe Merkle Institute and has a second affiliation at the Chemistry Department, both at the University of Fribourg. Alke’s interests are situated at the bio-nano interface where she tries to understand and control nanoparticle synthesis, colloidal behavior in complex biological fluids, nanoparticle-cell interaction, or intracellular trafficking and nanoparticle and cellular fate.
